For turning off tonight's game and watching the Jets/Chargers or reading Proust's Remembrance of Things Past or playing Halo 3 or whatever.
In case you missed it, Gary Cohen of SNY offered this Fun Fact: In the last five years there have been three grand slams hit by pitchers. All three were against the Mets, at Shea Stadium, and in the last two years.
Disgusting.

Yeah two came this year.
1. Niese v. Marquis
2. Johan v. King Felix
What sucks a little bit more was that Marquis took Niese Yard on what is said to be his best pitch. The kid hung a curve. He is supposed to have teh best curve in the system. Hopefully he will grow from this.
Got tickets to tonight's game. This is why they got Johan. This is why this year is different from last year.

holy hell thats a painful fact. Now if you'll excuse Rickey, he's off to exterminate the invading covenant horde...
Hey Blastings, don't give up on Fernando just yet.
Consider what Wright was doing at age 19: 266/367/401 in Sally League
At age 20?: 270/369/459 in St. Lucie
Granted, Wright's IsoDs of around .100(!) translate better than Fernando's, which are around .050. But considering the difference in difficulty of their respective leagues, and the fact that DW's strike zone judgment is at an elite level in MLB, there really is no reason to cont out Fernando just yet. One more year--or even 3/4ths of a year--in the minors should be just fine.
What does it mean if I was at both games this year when the opposing pitcher hit the grand slams?
It means you're sure as shit not allowed to go to anymore Mets games this season.
Hey Guys,
Baseball Prospectus just posted an article about the Mets Bullpen.

I haven't given up on Fernando. I was just saying that the idea that he should be in the outfield next year is absurd.
